Summer Capsule Wardrobe for Travel

The Ultimate One Bag Female Packing List

When it comes to picking a material for your summer travel capsule wardrobe, it’s been said before but I’ll say it again. Nothing compares to merino wool. Below, you’ll find my lightweight summer capsule wardrobe for travel list. I’ve piloted it to California and Hawaii, and am pleased to say this collection can keep me going for over two weeks.

Most of these clothes are from Icebreaker. They’re an amazing company based in New Zealand. Founded in 1995, they’re committed to natural clothing and sustainability. Their clothes are expensive, but I’ve found the comfort and quality to be top notch.

Merino Wool T-Shirts

I’ve had no trouble wearing these tees multiple days and/or while jogging. I always throw in a polo, which can be dressed up or down depending on what’s on the agenda for the day.

Shorts, Skirts, Pants, & Leggings

For a summer trip, I enjoy having a variety of versatile styles for running, the gym, a day at the beach, and a night out at dinner. I also choose to keep bottoms monochromatic. Not only is black a slimming color, it’s a lifesaver if you happen to spill (which for me is an inevitable, daily occurance).

Extras

Once again: a rich assortment of merino wool. (The exception: Patagonia underwear, which comes with a lifetime guarantee. It’s only $5 a pair to have them repaired if they rip — but spoiler, they’ll always send you a full refund if that happens.) As an extra bonus: all Darn Tough socks come with a lifetime guarantee.

The hat (XL, due to my enormous head size) comes in handy during runs to keep the sun off my face. On the shoe front, the Cole Haan black sneakers pass as dress shoes in a pinch, while the Havaianas are a must for any kind of beach excursion (and don’t add much to your packing weight).
