Our hotel (the Springhill Suites) is only steps from the Carlsbad State Beach.
Once we arrived, we followed the path along the water north to Tamarack Beach, which attracts surfers, swimmers, and volleyball players. Round-trip, the beachfront path resulted in a gorgeous three-mile run (round trip).
